Roles

Me- My role in the group is cinematography and camera shots. I chose to do this role as I think that it will be challenging but also a vital role in a music video and i understand that cinematography is everything in a music video. To follow this role through and give my input to the group I must watch videos of our chosen genre and understand and analyse why shots are used and why angles and the type of shot are important.

Luke- Luke is in charge of location, this is an important role as the location within a video is very important and it must match with the video you are doing. As Luke lives further away from the rest of the group, he is more likely to see more different areas and locations than us therefore this role suits Luke nicely. He must look at videos within our genre and analyse locations and why they are so important within a video and make sure our location is perfect.

Alex- Alex is in charge of the editing. This is an important role as this job is done after the filming is done therefore he must analyse videos and understand why and when editing is important. He must know what bits are important and which parts can be cut out or changed. This is a very challenging role as it is the editing which finishes of the video and the editing must work with the rest of the roles to ensure a good video which people will want to see.

Jordan- Jordan is in charge of mise-en-scene, Like the other roles this is vitally important and must fit the genre which we do. Jordan, not knowing much about HipHop must do some serious research on props, costumes, lighting and much more in order for our video to look like a Hip Hop video, he must analyse videos from our genre and understand what props and outfits are used and why and bring them into our planning to ensure we all look the part in the film.

Initial Ideas

This is a little spider diagram made on Bubbl showing our initial ideas. As you can see I have colour coded each persons roles and ideas and opinions. I feel that we all contributed well as a group and easily came up with roles for each person. Our main focus is on Hip Hop artists and are choosing between 3 artists. Chipmunk, Ms Dynamite and RizzleKicks. Chipmunk has a new album released therefore we feel that a lot of the songs will not yet have videos and also Chipmunk is a very well known and upcoming artist. Ms Dynamite is another artist as we would like to experiment doing and artist which would be more challenging as we are all males, therefore Jordan is in charge of finding a willing female to play that role if we decide to do Ms Dyamite. RizzleKicks, like Chipmunk are up and coming and feel that a lot of their music will not have videos therefore will be a good time to take advantage of this.

This is a short video of me and my group planning our initial ideas and roles. As you can see from the video we discuss artists and why, the roles of the group and how we will go about it. All our notes were jotted down on paper and all put our ideas together to get closer and closer to deciding the next step. The next step is to choose our artist and do some serious research on them and decide which song we should use, we then all stick to our roles, Cinematography (Me), Editing (Alex), Mise-en-scene (Jordan) and Location (Luke) and take the next step into planning the video.

Peer Assessment

Tre Gibbons assessed my blog and graded it accordingly.

- He gave me a 15/20 overall with is a high level 3 low level 4. Im happy with this grade as it shows that there is good work included however there is still room for improvement which can include using visual imagery more or adding a bit more detail and analysis. I had 5 areas where i was marked as a high level 3/4, these were the organisation, costumes and props of the group task, the shotlists, shot types and layouts, the level of care in my presentation and planning research . the use of digital technology and ict skills in presentation and also the excellent communication skills

Assessment 24/09/11 TME

WWW: Good analysis of the music magazine adverts (although you don't point out why the Rap/RnB artists use products to sell their brand - which is very interesting). You've spent some time on your blogs, and have an entry for almost all of them. However most of them need some improvement.

EBI: You are still missing several blog entries including most importantly your audience research. This needs to include an analysis of the results of your questionnaire.

- The Saturdays are not a RnB or HipHop group. You should find another album cover to analyse.

- In your analysis of the videos try to be much more specific. Phrases like "Many shots in this video are closeups or mid-long shots" because there is very little meaning in this sentence. Focus rather on the specific shot and explain how it creates meaning (you do do this to an extent in your analysis).  You also need to include ALL the micro elements - not just Mise-en-scene and Cinematography.

-Include visual material to illustrate your theories entries.

Magazine Adverts 3

This is an advertisement for the energy drink Mounain Dew. The artist on the advertisement is Jay Electronica. The slogan "When I rhyme the whole world disappears" is perhaps promoting the drink saying that the drink, being an energy drink makes you feel invincible and in a world of your own. Also the caption at the bottom reading " Hip Hop is different on the mountain" is perhaps saying that when you drink this drink it changes the way you feel and what you do, almost saying that drinking this drink takes hip hop to a new level promoting the drink as well as the artist. Also at the bottom right it has a BB barcode which you can scan for more information about the drink and artist. Also the artists youtube channel is under the slogan, again promoting the artist and his music.

Magazine Adverts 2

This advert is mainly promoting a drink called "Ty-ku Liquitor". However it also advertises Chiddy Bangs album in a subtle way. I dont believe that this advertisement is promoting either of the two as they have nothing in common or theres no link between the two. The catchy subtitle 'Your time to shine' could perhaps be making a reference towards the drink as well as the new album. I think that maybe both products are both run by the same parent company therefore they thought putting them together in an advertisement will promote both drink and album. The reason for this advertisement may be the fact that he is a well known artist and very popular and he is on there to help promote the drink more and get it more noticed while the album is also getting a subtle bit of advertisement.

Magazine Adverts

This is an advertisement in a USA Magazine promoting a drink called 'Crown Royal Black'. The artist holding the merchandise is "Big Boi" from musical group Outkast. The fact that the artist is holding the drink may entice people to buy the drink because theymay be fans of the group Outkast, however it doesnt really promote any music what so ever. The advertising is mainly for the drink and the fact that a well known, rich artist is holding it means that this drink must be very 'Expensive', 'Luxurious' and 'Posh'. The appearance of the drink itself almost shows the luxury of the drink, the black suede bag it comes in with the golden stitching and gold string robe. The artist is wearing a brown jacket which helps make the drink stand out and seem more attractive. The fact that he is wearing a big watch, glasses and a fashionable hat almost inflicts that this drink is for the 'Big boys'.

Album Cover 3

This is the album cover for the rapper Eminem. Although theres nothing much happening in the album cover, there is so much meaning behind it. As many peopl know Eminem is one of the best rappers of all time and has been through so many different situations, and a lot of his music and album covers are based on his real life events. This album being the first for a long time obviously creates the image of Eminem coming back to music, reinforced by the name Recovery. It shows that he has bounced back and is ready to carry on with his music. In the picture you can see Eminem walking away down a long road, this could be perhaps to show that he is moving on and leaving the past behind him. The colours in the picture are very simple and nothing to fancy again probably inflicting the seriousness of his Recovery.

Album Covers

This is Tinie Tempah's album cover of his album Disc-Overy.  A lot of conventions are shown in this picture which show that it is a hip hop / RnB genre. Conventions such as the watch and jewellery indicate money wealth and power. Also he is wearing glasses which many hip hop artists tend to wear in music videos and pictures. the fact that he is holding a country in his hands may indicate the power he has or like his album name the "Disc-overy' he has made. The colours are dark with the lights shining on him and his discovery which bright white lights around it.

Album Cover 2

This is the Album cover fo singer Drake. The album cover itself is very simple and not "too much". A simple picture of him with added effects and his name and album name down the left side. However as an album cover this really stands out. Although it is a simple picture is shows a lot about Drake and as the camera angle appears to look up at him it almost shows his power and high status. This is an important feature for an album cover as it almost entices people to want to buy it, not only because they enjoy the music but also the subtle meaning he is trying to get across through his album.

Analysis Of Hip Hop Music Video 3

Cinematography
Many shots in this video are close up or mid long shots. And as there are a lot of them in this video the shot is trying to get most of them in. The shots showing Drake and the rest of his group in the background shows the power and status Drake has. Also there are many shots of locations throughout America and fits well with the lyrics he is signing, trying to get across that hes enjoying his life whilst he's young.

Mise-en-Scene
As you can see by the images, the location is set in America in the big cities where thr big cars and money are. The typical hip/hop Rap conventions are used in this video, the big cars, tattoos and a large group of members with the singer. This makes the video worth watching and the visual images shown are stuff which he works for and what the singer wants to portay through this video, the fact of enjoying his youth and his music and also living the big life full of money, cars and big locations.

Hip Hop music Video Analysis 2

Cinematography
In this video the shots are a mix of fast and slow. Many of the shots are shots looking up at dappy speaking down to the camera, almost as if he is talking to a younger sibling. This could emphasise the mood and emotion of the song as he is talking about mistakes and how hes changed, and the camera work shows him looking down almost as if he's confessing and owning up to his mistakes.

Mise-en-scene
Similar to the previous video, hats, jewelry, cars and tattoos are shown. These items may be to show that although hes got all these nice items, it doesn't necessarily make him happy, because the video doesn't really depict a happy mood and more of a confessional and emotional song. He's perhaps showing the difference between materialistic things to normal everyday essentials like friends and family. Again, like the other video the video looks to be set in America.

Conventions-
-Cars
-Jewellry
-Tattoos
-Hats

Hip hop Music Video Analysis 1

cinematography
The first establishing shot shows him in a sports car driving down a long road in America. The shots in this video aren't very short and tend to last quite a while, whilst telling and showing more of a story. Some shots are low angled shots which may be used to show power.

Mise en scene
The video looks to be mainly set in America, using a lot or natural scenery. Alot of it is set on a hill and them walking down it. Both singers are wearing glasses which could show wealth and status, however both singers are oppositely dressed. Tinie wears a plain white T-shirt, Tight skinny jeans and High top trainers, a different outfit then the usual stereotype of a hip hop artist. Whereas Wiz is wearing a hat, Big earrings, chains, shirt, shorts and Air Jordan's. This showing a bit  more of a 'hip hop' outfit.

Conventions
-Black shiny sports car
-Woman
-Glasses
-Jewellery
-Tattoos

Genre- Hip Hop

The reason I chose these images to represent Hip-hop is because these are some of the biggest hip-hop artists around. Also these artists are showing the typical conventions associated with hip hop. The glasses, tattoos, era hats and the love for money. I added some images of graffiti and neon lighting spelling hip-hop. The writing illustrates a lot about the style of hip hop, adventurous, lots of colour, funky writing and also the 3D style effect as shown in graffiti.

Theories 3 - Andrew Goodwin

'Dancing in the distraction factory'

Illustration

Lyrics- images illustrate the literal meaning or feeling of the lyrics, often just with the band singing and dancing

Band image- The band area, band singing, dancing, playing instruments. Dress as would be expected

Amplification

Music- film cuts on the beat but also off to emphasise features

Lyrics- images amplify the lyrics, a specific narrative may be used that would not necessarily be picked up from reading the lyircs alone

Band image- The band take on fictional roles in the narrative.

Disjuncture

Music- Film cuts of the beat- sometimes ( but not always) the sign of a badly made music video

Lyrics- Images which do not relate to the lyircs uses, sometimes used by bands who are already very well established who can afford to take risks

Band image- The band take on an image that is nothing like or the complete opposite of their expected image E.g lead singer of Texas dresses as Elvis

Example- 'Daft Punk - Da Funk'

- Beat changes
- More like a trailer
- No lyrics
- No rhythm

Theories 2 - Vernallis

Carol Vernallis- 'The finest cut' ( functions and meanings in music video editing)

Rhythmic

- Editing the footage and thinking about the duration of each shot, thinking of how long each shot should run for.

- Each shot runs on length according to the beat and tempo of the music

- Different shots will give different effects, the faster the beat the shorter the shots will be.

Music videos
- Mutliplicity of incomplete sometimes obscure paths.

Hollywood film- single clear path through the films world

- Order of shots, unconventional. Shifts more freely between shots. No typical shot order

Hollywood film- Order of shots- conventional. Typical shot order, E.g film opening- establishing shot, two shots, medium shots, close ups.

- Time space, character and narrative are revealed incompletely.

Hollywood film- Unity of time and space

- Discontinuity- Pop videos draw us away from the narrative by foregrounding other structures and elements E.g music, stars, lyrics and genre

Hollywood film- Continuity- film draws us into the narrative

Visual hooks create continuity. Non continuous shots linked by a single feature - unified by figure, shape, colour and setting

- Sometimes all elements ( Colour, editing, star etc) are equal, sometimes one is dominant and others subordinate.

Theories 1 - Bordwell and Thompson

Bordwell and Thompson are 2 theorists that came up with their four corners in 2001. The 4 sections are; Graphic, Rhythmic, Temporal and Spatial.

Graphic- The editing is all about mise-en-scene, The stuff we are shown on screen and what it illustrates. This could be-

-Patterns, light and dark, colour similarities and differences
- smooth continuity and or abrupt contrasts
- Graphic match- linking to shots together
- Graphic continuity- keeping it flowing, interest stays throughout cut
- Graphic discontinuity- everything changes

Rhythmic

Editing the footage and thinking about the duration of each shot. Rhythmic editing will show that each shot cuts on length according to the beat and tempo of the music. Different shots will give different effects.
- All shots same length
- Some which lengthen steadily
- Shots which get shorter and shorter in length
- Longer shots
- Rapid series of quick shots
Spatial

Maintaining continuity through thinking about the space where the event of the music video takes place. trying to make the best use of the frame and using it to its full potential.
- Continuity - Using an establishing shot .
The 'kuleshov effect' - no establishing shot but it still tells the audience where the location is.
- Cross cutting (parallel editing) acting taking place at the same time but at in different locations.
Temporal
- Concerns time of action and contributes to the plots' manipulation of storyline order, duration and frequency.
- The order of presentation of events can be manipulated- changes in story- plot relations which interupt 'temporal' order.
- E.g flashbacks ( to past events) increases story knowledge and flashforwards ( to future events) creating enigma.
Temporal continuity- Duration of story events within the plot can altered via use of ellipsis. ( presents action in less screen time than withing the story) Ellipsis; ( taking out the stuff we dont need to see)

Assessment 11/9/11 TME

www
- Good visual examples included for most of your posts. I do like the fact that you've made the effort to illustrate your brief entry with an inclusion of a Digipack.
- You've clearly tried to keep up to date with all your posts. Well done.
- Range of different music videos these are clearly well chosen and you've included youtube versions on each entry.

EBI
- Flip the image of the Tinie Tempah album back cover, it is upside down.

- Check your spelling, grammar and syntax.: e.g. this year's task not: this years task. Your concord is also inconsistant e.g. "Colours used in the video may representing the emotions". You can easily correct this by re-reading (outloud) the work you've written.

- Could you include visual material for the "Convention of a Music Video" Entry?

-Not much analysis of the music videos. You tend to be much too general. You need to focus on specific elements of the music video: i.e. Camera Work, Editing, Mise en scene and Sound. These then need to be supported by accurate and relevant examples. Please do this. These entries are too short.

- Avoid waffle! Phrases like "this video uses a lot of creativity" and "The creativity and effects in the video helps reduce viewer fatigue" do not actually add anything to the factual analysis and have now actually cost you marks.

Conventions of a music video

  • A music video must match up to the song and the lyrics otherwise people wont understand the storyline and lose interest.
  • Lip syncing is crucial as if this is mucked up, the whole film will look unproffessional and will create that viewer fatigue.
  • The music video must attract people and make them want to listen to it again, This could be by having a good storyline or having a good beat or just in general a good song with good lyrics.
  • A music video MUST have interesting and appropriate shots. The timing must also be accurate and shots musnt last too long because this will increase viewer fatigue.
  • Colours used in the video may representing the emotions and feeling of the song, for example, using a lot of yellow lighting or clothing will maybe inflict a happy feeling, or a red may inflict anger etc.
  • A variety of shot types/lengths and angles will inevitably make a good music video as long as it goes well with the songs beat.

Analysis of rock music 3

This is another example of rock music. This is a very popular and well known rock song. The video is showing a story. There is quite a lot of lip syncing in this video and is very accurate. There are plenty of shots in this video, a lot of clos ups of the instruments being played and also a lot of shots of the singers themselves, there are some effects shown as well which are quite intrigueing. Thr film is in black and white, again a typical effect used in rock music.

Cinematography
A lot of the shots in this video are of instruments such as guitars, harps and violins. This could perhaps show the love oasis have for their music and instruments. Many of the shots are mid shots showing their chest upwards with little close ups. Although this song is quite emotional and slow the mid shots show enough facial expression and body language so there's no need for lots of close ups.

Mise en scene
The location seems to be set in a warehouse, the film is in black and white. Again a convention of rock music with the main colours normally black. The only colour in this video is mainly the guitars where you see a green guitar and a blue one. Main Props can include chairs, instruments and mirrors. These are mostly shown in the video.

Editing
Through editing there is a rotation where the singer is slowly spinning around. This may be to show his confusion and expression and emotions. Some shots are slowed down and some are quicker than others which is good because theres a variety of paced sequences.  Other effects can include the 12 pictured frame of the singer, these little effects add detail to the video.

Sounds
Like most videos all the music is diegetic but may have some voiceovers in there. The music itself is quite a slow song and uses guitars and drums as its main instruments. These instruments play a bit part in the conventions of rock music as the main rock instruments to rock music consist of drums, guitars and violins.

Analysis of Rock music 2

This is another good example of a popular rock song. It is quite different to the usual loud hard hitting rock, and is more emotional but nevertheless not as good as usual rock music. This has a different take on rock music and the video is telling a story. The song is  a bit more slower and the shots last a little longer than normal but it matches well because the song is slow. The lip syncing is accurate however there isnt as much lip syncing shown than normal.

Cinematography
This video has a mixture of shot types ranging from long shots of the band singing to mid shots of them with the camera looking up at them creating a high angle shot and also close ups of the main singer. Most of the shots in the video are framed in the centre of the shot however do have a few positioned to either side. From the establishing shot we can see that it is set in a space ship centre with the band singing and the people watching it on the tv.

Mise en scene
The location seems to be at a Nasa centre. We can tell this by the beginning where the earth is shown coming closer to us and the band playing on stage in the Nasa centre. Through the facial expressions and body language of the singers we can tell that it is quite an emotional song perhaps dedicated to the film armageddon and the people of Nasa and all the families of the people who are part of it. Again like the usual rock conventions, each singer has long hair and is wearing black or dark clothing.

Editing
In this video there is very little editing in terms of dissolves, fade outs and jump cuts, however there is a lot of cutting between shots and shot reverse shots showing the emotion and body language of the people, also some visual effects are shown from the film like where the man and woman hugging. This makes a good music video as it is telling a story as well and is showing clips of a very popular movie and the music goes well with the emotional film.
Sound
The sound is all diegetic sound and has no sound effects or non diegetic sounds in it. The music sound itself is very slow and quite emotional and creates quite sympathetic mood. The fact that violins are also used in this music video also backs up the fact that it is quite emotional because we normally associate violin music with emotional or romantic music.

Analysis of Rock music 1

This is a good example of rock music. It is filmed in black and white which gives it a 'rock music' type of effect as black is normally associated with rock. The shots are quick and change very frequently, lip syncing isnt used as much in this and shows more shots of them out of action and talking to the camera. The location doesnt really change and is situated on a stage or in the crowd, this may cause viewer fatigue from the video but the song is very upbeat and loud which may reduce the viewer fatigue.

Cinematography
In this video the shots mainly consist of long shots of the singers on stage, and close ups of their faces. The variety between the two make the video very interesting as your not just seeing one shot type all the time, also the shot angles vary from high angle to low angle which works well with the type of shot and creates a piece of footage and goes well with whats happening within the video.

Mise en scene

This video seems to be located mainly on stage where the band are preparing for a gig or music event. Most of them are wearing black leather jackets and tight jeans which works well as they look like a group rather than all wearing different outfits and types of clothing. Also they all have long hair and some sort of jewellery whether it be piercings, necklaces or chains hanging from their clothes, again representing and illustrating the conventions of a typical rock band.

Editing
The length of shots in this video vary from very short to fairly long and as it is almost like a documentary of them before the gig starts, sometimes it seems like it isnt in time and isnt really going along with the music in the video. However the length and variety of shots creates a good video because it isnt all the same and like a rock video a lot of it is very manic and random.

Sound
The sound in  this video is very upbeat. Being a rock song the music is normally loud and has a lot of screaming and loud noises in it. most of the sound in this video is dialogue apart from when it shows them getting ready for the gig and the lyrics are sung over it.

Analysis of Pop Video 3

This is an example of another pop video. This video uses a lot of creativity as shown where the cassette tape draws the womans face expressing the feelings of the lyrics, this links in well together and makes a good pop song. A lot of interesting shots were included and varied from close, mid and long shots all being very accurate and being at an appropriate time. The lip syncing was also good and matched with the song well. The creativity and effects in the video helps reduce viewer fatigue. The shots also express a lot of feelings and really help the video portray a meaning.

Cinematography
Most of the shots in this video are close ups or extreme close ups, only showing the face and shoulders. As this is quite a romantic song, the shots may represent and try to show the emotions and romance between the two, showing their facial expressions and smiles. There is an over the shoulder shot of the two at 1.54, this shot could portray the romance and closeness of the two, and between the two is the video cassette drawing singing along. Also many of the shots are shot reverse shots between the two, again showing their close relationship and bond.

Mise en scene
The location in this video is what seems to be a studio flat. most of the filming is done in the front room on the sofa with a lot of the filming showing the coffee table where the cassette tape is. The girl is wearing ordinary lounging clothes and Bruno Mars a denim jacket and hat which perhaps means he has just came in. The cassette tape drawings show a lot of the storyline and creates a good effect on the video as the cameras not just on Bruno Mars.
Editing
The editing in this video is fairly simple. The shot lengths are quite even lengths and dont really vary in shot type or angle. The editing however of the cassette tape drawings are very good and not something you would normally see in a music video. This is a good effect and is quite clever in the way that the singing comes from the Bruno Mars drawn by tape, as its not all on Bruno Mars.

Sound
The sound in this video is quite romantic and laid back. And as Bruno Mars has a good voice and can hit  high notes well, the sound works well with the video and the romantic theme of the video. The lyrics are sung in a normal speed and isn't very rushed. You can hear him very well and can understand what he is saying.

Analysis of Pop Video 2

This is another good example of hip hop/pop music. Again it is upbeat and a very 'youthful' type song. The lip syncing is very accurate and in time. The video has a lot of effects on it like the comic strip type writing. There is a lot of dancing and movement in this video which reduces viewer fatigue as it keeps changing shots and there are many different angles shown. The shot changes very frequently. The editing of this film is also good and this links in with the shot timing because the editing means the shots are quicker which in all makes the video more effective. the lighting in the film is quite dark and is very subtle lighting.

Cinematography
In this video there is lots of dancing, this means lots of different camera shots. The shots change very frequently and help reduce that viewer fatigue. The use of angles shots are used well in this video, high angled and low angled shots were used the most and goesd well with the dancing and beat of the song. The shots are in time with the beat and helps make it look professional.

Mise-en-scene
This video is mainly set inside a house at a house party. It starts of with Sean Kingston waking up in his bed and receiving messages from friends telling him about parties' going on. He gets changed and goes to the party. The room is full of people partying and drinking and enjoying themselves. At the first party everyone is wearing mainly black and white clothes, however Kingston is wearing a light blue body warmer with 'SK' on the front. The fact that he is wearing a different colour outfit makes him stand out so you know who the artist is. The second night the theme seems to be red dress code. There is a shot of him putting on the red shoes and then a shot of all the people at the party wearing red. This could perhaps portray that when he goes to parties he likes to fit in and not stand out as being famous and rich etc.

Editing
The editing in this video is quite good. Firstly every time he wakes up each day the only thing that changes is the clock and the texts, but apart from that the shot is being re-used but with different effects. This is useful in music videos as it saves a lot of time and reduces the fact of losing continuity. The shot lengths in this video are not very quick and do last quite a while. This is edited well with the music as its not really an upbeat shot with the shots changing every 2 seconds, instead it goes nicely and has a vary of length of shots making the video more attractive as it isn't just all the same.

Sound
The sound in this video works well with video. The music is very catchy and creates a 'party-like' atmosphere. It creates quite a happy mood and the song is quite catchy and upbeat. The volume of the song stays the same throughout and rarely quietens of gets louder.

Analysis of Pop Video 1

Cinematography
Cinematography is used well in this video. There are plenty of camera angles and shots which make the video more interesting and unique, the shots and angles work with the lighting to portray a great shot, although a lot of the shots and of the whole group, each shot is framed well in order for the lighting to work with the angle of the shot, this is used a lot through the video and is a great example of great cinematography.

Sound
The sound in this video is very upbeat and rhythmic. It is a very youthful song and will attract more younger people due to the beat and the video itself. The sounds work well with the shots and are in time, this makes the video flow better as its in time, whereas wouldnt look as good if they werent in time, also the sound goes well with the lip syncing and looks very proffesional.

Mise-en-scene
Each group member is wearing bright coloured clothes which stand out and again back up the 'youthful' look. It is located abroad, somewhere hot and on a beach. Most of the time they are dancing on huge rocks which is quite an interesting shot because it could illustrate them singing on a stage to many people, but instead they are on rocks singing to many people, the rocks being a replacement for a stage.

Editing
Editing is used well in this video. The edits work well with the lip sync and are timed perfectly to make the lip sync spot on. The shots are very short and rarely last to long therefore the editing is used well, as the quick shots work well with the camera angles and sound.
