My Role in the group remake of "in the sun"

In our group task of re-making the music video of "In the sun" i had a numerous amount of roles to do. Firstly I was included in the hula hoop dancing which was in the gym. This was a simple role but a well needed role as we needed a lot of people to dance around Elenya, the main character. Another one of my roles was filming a shot of when the group was dancing around elenya with the hoops above their head, This was an effective role as I needed to ensure the shot was correct and done first time. I also filmed the shot of Dan Purvey playing the guitar. I was also involved in an important shot using the fig rig where I had to climb to the the top of the apparatus and film the shot trying to impersonate a birds eye view but as we couldnt go straight above we improvised and shot and at an angle as best as we could.

Being involved in these type of roles has made me become more aware of how hard and how time consuming a music video can actually be. Every shot was filmed atleast 5 times and even at times it werent good enough. We all had to work hard and all complete our own roles in order for the filming to be successful. A lot of stuff was relied upon each person doing there role because if someone forgot to bring in a specific prop of piece of costume or didnt allocate a proper location for filming, then the whole film wouldnt of took place. I believe that i am now more aware of how hard it will be when organising my own film and understand that it needs a lot of planning and a lot of time.
